Dr. Janelle Johnson, PhD, LPC, NCC | Life Balance Counseling

“Living Your Balanced Life”

I believe clients have a meaningful voice in their therapeutic journey. Therapy provides a supportive space to explore thoughts and emotions, strengthen self-awareness, identify patterns, reconnect with personal values, develop healthier coping strategies, and make changes that support emotional well-being and quality of life. My role is not to tell clients how to live their lives, but to work with them as they explore what matters most and decide what changes they want to make.

A trusting therapeutic relationship is central to my approach. I take time to build rapport and create a warm, supportive environment where clients can feel heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves. Through open dialogue and self-exploration, clients may develop greater awareness of thoughts, emotions, experiences, and behaviors that have been difficult to understand, express, or address.

I am grateful to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. My approach is engaged, interactive, encouraging, authentic, collaborative, and responsive to each client’s individual needs, values, experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we may explore concerns, identify triggers and patterns, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical strategies for navigating life’s challenges.

My goal is for clients to leave therapy feeling heard, valued, supported, and more confident in their ability to navigate their lives. Therapy may support greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, healthier coping, improved relationships, reduced stress, and a clearer understanding of personal priorities and values. Ultimately, our work centers on helping clients create greater peace, harmony, and balance in their lives.
